Cleveland Pools
Hampton Row, Bathwick, Bath, Somerset, BA2 6NJ
About
Britain's oldest surviving outdoor public swimming pool — a remarkable Georgian lido on the banks of the River Avon in Bath, originally opened in 1815. After decades of closure and years of community campaigning, Cleveland Pools was beautifully restored and reopened in 2023, its crescent of original changing rooms and the open-air pool once again welcoming swimmers to the same waters that Regency-era Bathonians enjoyed. A genuinely historic place to swim.
